Join The Victorian Disability Advisory Council

The Andrews Labor Government is calling for applicants to join the Victorian Disability Advisory Council.

Members of the council provide independent advice to government to ensure the voices of people with disability are heard in policymaking, and have provided critical advice throughout the pandemic response.

The council also has an important role in liaising with communities about key issues for Victorians with disability and overseeing the implementation of the state disability plan.

Applications are sought for a new chair and up to 13 ordinary members, including at least one person who will represent the experience of Aboriginal people with disability.

The roles are remunerated, and members will serve a fixed term until July 2025.

Applications must be from people with disability who live in Victoria, or from Victorian residents who are carers of people with disability.

The Labor Government is committed to ensuring that government boards and committees reflect the diversity of the Victorian community. Applications are strongly encouraged from Aboriginal people, women, people from LGBTIQ+ communities, young people, people from culturally diverse communities and regional Victorians.

Current council members complete their term in July 2022.
