Delivering Amenities For People With Disability Across Victoria

The Andrews Labor Government is building more amenities across the state for people with disability. Applications for grants to build new Changing Places toilets in Victoria are now open.

Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers Lizzie Blandthorn today launched the latest round of grants, valued at up to $180,000 each, that will support Victoria’s network of Changing Places facilities to continue to grow.

Each Changing Place has a height-adjustable, adult-sized changing bench, a tracking hoist system and enough space for two people, making community spaces, including popular tourist destinations and events more accessible for people with disability.

The new grant round follows improvements to the national Changing Places website to make it more accessible, secure and functional for all users.

Funded by the Labor Government, the redeveloped website will make it easier to find:

  • the nearest Changing Places facility in Australia
  • information for organisations wanting to construct a Changing Places facility.

The Andrews Labor Government’s 2022-2023 State Budget allocated $5.4 million to construct 30 Changing Places facilities.
