Recognising Outstanding Multicultural Victorians

Victorians are encouraged to honour the remarkable people and organisations that help make our state a multicultural success story.

Minister for Multicultural Affairs Ros Spence and Victorian Multicultural Commission Chairperson Viv Nguyen today announced that nominations are open for the Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence.

The annual awards, now in their 20th year, include 15 categories, covering issues such as community harmony, business, education and early childhood, local government, arts, health and emergency services.

The awards also include the community response and recovery category – introduced in 2020 to acknowledge the remarkable efforts of those who have assisted during the response to the pandemic.

Victorians can be nominated for either paid or voluntary work, and award recipients will be honoured in a ceremony hosted by the Victorian Multicultural Commission later in the year.

Nominations close Sunday 5 September, and individuals can self-nominate.
